I am an award winning integrated designer with considerable knowledge and experience, and a quick glance at my CV, will be enough to convince you that I have all the relevant qualities and skill set.

I have a proven track record of successful design and branding. I am currently working as the Digital Content Design and Communication Specialist at Pearson UK, creating graphic content for both print and digital.

 

I believe that the accumulated knowledge and skills that I have acquired in previous positions, puts me in a unique position which allows me to meet the criteria of many design/creative roles.

Experience

DIGITAL CONTENT DESIGN & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
2018 - Present

My role is to make Pearson customers’ lives easier and have a positive impact on their experience by giving them the information they need, when they need it.
My role is split between graphic design (60%) and communications (40%).

 

KEY AREAS

  • I use Pearson’s brand voice and style guides to design infographics, banners, leaflets, posters, booklets, newsletter, presentation slides and interactive material  - I am the brand champion for Customer Services

  • I design and create branded communications templates for newsletters and ad-hoc messages

  • I work closely with all teams in Pearson Qualifications Services (PQS) to ensure all communications are accurate and appropriate for the customer

  • I ensure that the appropriate sign off process is followed, and all messages are sent within Service Level Agreement (SLA)

  • I continually review new channels to interact with customers, advising the business on the most effective methods of communication and implementing as required

  • I am responsible for proofing and content editing documents for both internal and external audiences.

MEDIA RELATIONS EXECUTIVE (DESIGN)  
2016 - 2017

Working as the Media Relations Executive (Design) at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), I led on design matters for the Press Office, playing a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of NICE’s communications strategy  with a particular focus on communicating the activities of NICE and its guidance to the media using innovative design and branding.

 

I was responsible the organisation’s communication with different target audiences, including journalists, the public, government bodies, stakeholders, healthcare professionals and the pharmaceutical industry. I advised other employees and managers on communication tasks, and used my written and verbal skills to create press releases, news stories and other communication material. By communicating effectively with the target audience, I helped to build a positive reputation for the organisation.

 

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Designed, edited and published the monthly e-newsletters NICE News and Update for Primary Care

  • Created the new visual language for the organisation

  • Created a wide range of different materials for specific events and promotions

IN-HOUSE DESIGNER / COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER  
2014 - 2016

As the In-house Designer and Communications Officer at Sutton Housing Partnership,

I assisted with the design, development and implementation of communications activities in order to support the organisation’s strategic priorities.

 

I was responsible the company’s communication with different target audiences, including residents, journalists, contractors, suppliers and the community. I advised other employees and managers on communication tasks, and used my written and verbal skills to create a wide range of product and corporate communication material. By communicating effectively with the target audience, I helped to build a positive reputation for the organisation.

 

Writing and designing marketing communications material was an important part of my duties. I planned content, wrote copy and then designed publications such as brochures, leaflets, annual reports for tenants, Sutton Housing Partnership magazine ‘Homefront’ and tenant newsletters. I wrote content for website pages and scripts for presentations and videos. To gather information, I worked closely with colleagues, such as heads of departments and managers.

The IVCA is the professional body for leaders in strategic business and public sector communications. I was responsible for the design and production of all publications.

  • Created the 256 page Members Handbook.

  • All design, editorial, management and content development.

  • Organised printing, proofing and dispatch.

INTERACTIVE GRAPHIC DESIGNER
1997 - 2001

Responsible for the design and production of overlay graphics for live broadcast programmes and standalone digital interactive games channel graphics.
